Elastography
Elastography is a method that objectively or subjectively quantifies the degree of stiffness of a tissue. There are different devices, but few are standardized and accepted for clinical use.
01
Hepatic elastography
Whether with GE-Logiq S8 shear-wave or Transient like fibroscan, measurements of the degree of liver stiffness are obtained, the number obtained is classified in METAVIR, it is used to know if there are changes due to fibrosis or even Cirrhosis.
02
Breast elastography
It serves to increase diagnostic certainty in the presence of a nodule that is suspicious for malignancy.
03
Thyroid elastography
It also serves to increase diagnostic certainty and to differentiate between cystic and solid lesions, as well as to define the margins of the nodule.
04
Soft tissue elastography
Helps differentiate solid lesions, abscesses, tumors.
